NEWSFLASH - interview update

Remember the interview I attended in the City on Tuesday afternoon this week?
I’d heard nothing back… until just now.
They liked me and want me back for a second interview with one of the senior Partners and also one of the main board directors who heads the functional role I work in (I don’t work in HR, Finance or IT, so you might guess the function I work in - which I love, I should add!). Anyway, these are the big guns.
My next interview is Thursday afternoon of next week.
It’s good news, and following the blow-out after I met that competitor (what, 6 weeks or so ago?) after stage 1, this has really boosted my confidence. It’s an extremely high-level / high-end City firm so it’s all good.
Will keep y’all posted.

Excellent news. When you posted about the interview I wanted to say that your ‘indifference’ or your not being 110% full on in the talks could also work in your favour….but I didn’t in case it sounded a bit patronising….but it seems you played it good boy! Fingers crossed for next week - hope it makes for a good weekend!!

Mumof4 - thanks for that, and also for the bit about the ‘indifference’ thing. Yeh, I agree thinking back on it. Had I come over as ‘too keen’ that may have looked like desperation which people don’t like. Playing it cool is a good thing I now think, esp in prof services which is quite stuffy.
Jen - thanks! I still don’t know tbh. Money has still not been talked about properly. It’s one of those things that is ‘negotiated’ at offer stage (if we ever get that far). The agency did say they raised the issue of hours (which I had been worried about) and they wanted to reassure me that it’s “not crazy hours” and the only people doing crazy hours are the obscenely highly paid lawyers (they’re doing huge corporate law things, the rewards are enormous. That itself almost puts me off - the haves and have-nots, etc).
I’ll go in with an open mind next Thursday PM.
